TERMS AND CONDITIONS – KOCHI LAKEVIEW ENVIROTHON 2025
RUN FOR HEALTH – LAKES OUR WEALTH
Why Do We Call It an “Envirothon”?
The Kochi Lakeview Envirothon is more than a marathon — it is a movement. The name combines environment and marathon, reflecting our mission to run not just for personal fitness, but for the health of our planet. Every step you take is a step towards preserving our precious water bodies, rivers, and lakes.
In today’s world, rapid urbanisation, pollution, and neglect are choking our natural resources. Kerala, though rich in water, is witnessing the slow degradation of its rivers and lakes. Without urgent action, the beauty and life they sustain will be lost.
By joining this run, you become a torchbearer for change — raising awareness, inspiring others, and showing that fitness and environmental responsibility go hand in hand. Together, let us protect Kochi’s lakes, safeguard our biodiversity, and honour our shared responsibility to preserve Mother Earth for generations to come. Let us run for health because lakes are our wealth.
The Kochi Lakeview Envirothon returns for its second edition — a 21.0975 km run along scenic routes and the breath taking lakeside walkway of Kochi. This year, the marathon will be held on 28 September 2025 at the Sacred Heart College Lakeview Ground, Kochi. Our motto remains: “Run for Health – Lakes Our Wealth.”
The gentle, undulating rhythm of Kochi Lake and the perpetual breeze swaying the coconut fronds have left an indelible mark on all who visit. This event is the perfect occasion to experience Kochi’s charm with friends and family. The marathon route extends beyond the beautiful river views, shaded trails, and city roads, offering a truly memorable run.
From the 21.0975 km half marathon to the 10K and 5K runs, participants have a variety of options. The half marathon starts at 5:00 am, followed by the 10K competitive run at 6:00 am, and the 5K fun walk/run at 6:30 am. Whatever distance you choose, we promise it will be a fun run.
In the lead-up to the main event, the Kochi Lakeview Envirothon will also host pre-event runs across Kochi, along with ‘How-to’ workshops designed to help both beginners and seasoned runners prepare for race day.

FREE TRAINING – TAKE THE FIRST STEP!
How long does it take to train for a marathon?
Most typical marathon training plans are 16 to 20 weeks long. During this time, you’ll typically run three to five times a week, increasing your mileage as you get nearer to race day. On the other days, you can cross train, do some low intensity exercise (think yoga or Pilates) and, most importantly, rest your legs, allowing them to fully recover.
Couch to 10K – Just imagine the reactions to what you could accomplish. We want you to join because we believe everyone has the right to try.
Which plans are best suited for beginners, or what marathon finishing time should I aim for?
If you’re a complete beginner, it’s best to start with a training plan focused on getting you round the course, not finishing in a certain time. If you’ve run a few races and are used to running longer distances, take a look at our race time predictor using a recent finishing time to work out which plan is best suited to you.
What pace should I be running at?
Each training plan will include different runs, which require you to alter your pace to avoid burning out. From an easy run training pace, to a tempo run training pace, whether you’re a beginner or a well-practised marathon runner, it can be difficult working out how fast to run. Use our training pace calculator to work out how quickly you should be running on each type of training run, by entering a recent race, or run, finishing time.
The Kochi Lakeview Envirothon has handcrafted a programme to train you from zero fitness to 10 Kilometre running. You can do it even if you have little or no running history. You will still reach the 10K finish line if you follow the program week by week. This programme will also help you enter 10K runs at popular running events like the The Kochi Lakeview Envirothon
The training will be conducted by experts who are doing or have done competitive marathons. No pressure! They will take it slow and easy with attention to each runner.
Age and gender is no bar. You should be able to run, from a medical and physical point of view – that’s all that matters!
YOU CAN DO IT! Take control of your fitness – be a new YOU! Welcome to the Sacred Heart College Lakeview Ground.
The Team Envirothon
Sacred Heart College, Thevara, Kochi.
